Priority pre-sale to give runners best shot at place in sell-out Yorkshire Marathon

09/08/2017

Would-be runners are being urged to sign up for priority access to Yorkshire Marathon 2018 places.

A complete sell-out five years running, the marathon is one of the UK’s post-popular running events and its sixth outing is set to be no different.

Runners will have the best chance of a place by signing up to the priority pre-sale list which gives them access to the coveted marathon spots before they are released for general sale.

The list is available here. It is free to register – runners will only be asked to pay once the pre-sale opens on 27th September and they have secured their place.

Described as the No 1 alternative to London, by the Daily Mirror, people come from across the UK and beyond to take part in this destination marathon in the historic city of York.

They are attracted by the incredible atmosphere and the stunning route which takes runners from the University of York, through the ancient city walls and out into the picturesque Yorkshire countryside.

Such was the popularity of the marathon, a 10 Mile event was added in 2015 and in 2017, up to 4,000 people are expected to take part in the shorter distance event alone.
